In an effort to make contact with anyone researching their Lewis County family, the Ilo-Vollmer Historical Society has chosen not to post full dates with these cemetery records, only names.  Their feelings are that people often visit a website and collect the material they want without taking time to get in touch with the local historical and genealogical groups who are interested in exchanging information.

If contacted, the Ilo-Vollmer Historical Society is very willing to help genealogists with full birth and death dates.  The group has over 11,000 local obituaries in addition to other records, which they will check to assist researchers find out as much as possible about their ancestors.

Many of the Lewis County cemetery records were originally collected in the late 1960's and the 1970's  by Margaret Nell Longeteig, formerly of Craigmont and now of Lewiston.  Her work was continued in the 1980s by Byron Bovey of Craigmont, who helped update the listings and began computerizing them, and by Shelley Thomason Kuther of Craigmont, who also helped with the updating.
